2009.02.07 - East Vail Ice Climbing

Colorado has been under a high pressure ridge the past few weeks which means minimal snowfall and uninspiring ski conditions. Therefore, I was left searching for an alternative winter activity for the weekend. Brandon and I decided that ice climbing would be the perfect change of pace and we quickly recruited Jesse, Steve, and J to join the fun. We headed to East Vail and found a suitable route at Pitkin Falls.
J practices his technique on the drywall (*Note: this is not recommended training)

Myself climbing a route dubbed by Jesse: "East Vail Armpit"

Brandon takes the direct route

Steve is an extreme swiss-bob sledder
